PostSubject: You Say God Says ... Dealing with the flesh   You Say God Says ... Dealing with the flesh EmptyFri Mar 13, 2009 12:00 am

Audio and PDF to come soon..

You Say… God Says.

Do you know why a marksmen in the army has a 99% hit rate? Its bc he does it every day. But we are not living the day to day with the lord. We live it, sure, on Sundays or Wendseday, but not every day..

But you can. If you will start your day with lord and keep him part of it, and end it with him your going to boost your relationship with him, and lower the power of the flesh.

Oh but I cant” yes you cant but do you want to? “well yeah but these people “ I don’t care about those people… Im asking do you want to ? Do you want to live for God? Do you want to be changed? DO YOU WANT IT???

God has given you the tools to secceed , use them!!

So many times in life we wonder, we wonder things such as “what if I stumble, or lord if I do that they wont come to you, or even “but lord you wouldn’t want me”

Im here to tell you tose things are NOT TRUE.

God says “if you stumble get up” God says “you be faithful I will worry about them coming to me”God says Don’t tell me who I wouldn’t want, my son died so that NONE would perish.

Tonight’s message is Titled “you say God Says”. And were going to deal with some of the issues on the flesh. Tonight were turning to Gods word and we are going to confront the flesh, and learn from the master himself.

Our flesh gets in our way at times.. From the things we do to the things we think.. the power of thought and action is astounding.
Take for example “shame”

You say “But lord you don’t know what I did” God says “I do, But I care more about what you WILL DO”

We all know shame.. The women in the pew feels it when the pastor talks about abortions, and she has had one.We feel it when we lie, or when we choose to put our bibles down rather then bring them with us..Shame comes when we are in sin, Or when we are lazy Pro 10:5 , Or even When we refuse correction Pro 13:18 .
But heres some good news from Gods word..

1st, Shame is a punishment for our Enemies.

Psa 6:10 All mine enemies shall be put to shame and sore troubled: They shall turn back, they shall be put to shame suddenly
Psa 35:26 Let them be put to shame and confounded together that rejoice at my hurt: Let them be clothed with shame and dishonor that magnify themselves against me.

But when we are shamed, God, Our refuge , Withholds and removes that from us..

Psa 22:5 They cried unto thee, and were delivered: They trusted in thee, and were not put to shame.
So the bottom Line for Shame is this..When your in shame, The lord is trying to reach you, he wants and desires to change this shame, to deliver us. God says when dealing with shame…Have HOPE.
Rom 5:5 and hope putteth not to shame; because the love of God hath been shed abroad in our hearts through the Holy Spirit which was given unto us.

But if shame is left unchecked, Shame will lead to another emotion, One that we can, and often do fight with…..anger.

Now, We all have delt with anger. We have delt with it on the way to work, getting cut off. Or the wife angry with her husband for not finishing the honeydo list. Or the husband angry for his wife not listening to what he said.. LOL I mean, just come on paltalk for an hour and its possible you will deal with anger there.

Now, Anger in and of itself is ok…
The Bible says “Be Angry, and Sin not.” But anger can and will lead to so many other problems. Anger is overwhelming (Prov 27:4) and Psalms 38 tells us that Anger Leads to EVIL DOING.

So we say “but lord im Angry” God says “put it away, Keep it back and still it, Use Discretion, and pass over the transgressions” Col 3:8,Prov 29:11 and Prov 19:11.
The bible says of those who are slow to anger that they are of “GREAT” Understanding.. How awesome is that, That in Gods eyes, when you Correctly Deal with Anger, You are called WISE”!! Prov 14:29

Concider Col 3:8
Col 3:8 but now do ye also put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, railing, shameful speaking out of your mouth:

God isn’t asking.. You want Real answers? You want the truth?
HERE IT IS!!! DO … God’s answer to anger is PUT IT AWAY!!
But what if we don’t? will anger then lead to a third problem?
But Lord, im sure you will understand, its just a church.. and its not like I stay home a lot..ill even go on wensday”

Sound familiar? I sure hope not, that is an example of Compromise. Look at Aaron, The brother of Moses, he compromised with the crying of his people, who turned against God, So he ordered a golden calf built, to appease them..

When we take the God Given Word, and mix it with other things, or when we take the Word of God and we ignore the parts we like, we are following in Aarons steps. WE are Giving up the WORD of GOD in place of the emotions of the flesh.

But lord It feels right.. well guess what!! THIS AINT NIKE!!!
Your life is not a shoe, and Gods commands are not “JUST PEW IT!” and “If it feels Good” As a matter of fact the bible says “LEAN NOT , “ on your understanding “feelings”..

And when you place your wants, your desires above Gods, Then you have compromised the word of God and your Witness.
But there is Good news….

As with the other two issues we talked about, these are fixable. We need only to lean on him. God says to people who have compromised “if my people” that means you “will TURN from your ways” Turn from sin, compamise then he “WILL HEAL” how cool is that?? GODS PROMISE TO YOU,, TURN and he will WILL take action.. not he might, or he’s thinking about it, maybe some day.. Nope HE WILL.. Finally.. another troubler…

This one is called… DENILE

When we do this, We are rejected that which we know. Peter did this, several times, and when he denied Christ, he added “I don’t know what your saying” Mat 26:70.
Gen 18:15 shows us how Denile is even linked with Liars, Again Turning from what they know is truth…But this is serious…How serious is it?
God Says in 1 Ti 5:8, those who denied the faith were “WORSE” then an unbeliever…
And that denile has lead to people who have “DENIED GOD” Jer 5:12
Jesus said “But he that Denieth me, in the presence of men shall be denied in the presence of the Angels of GOD” Luke 12:9
Today in the Relm of Christians there are those who say of a man who is married to two women “be our pastor” when Gods word says that is not to happen. People today are Activly living in denial. But you don’t have to…

You can say “lord I don’t understand” but be like job and say “I HAVE NOT DENIED THE WORDS OF THE HOLY ONE”
When it comes down to choosing, how you feel vs what Gods word says, rejecting the flesh is ALWAYS the best option.
There are choices, in more area’s then these 4, But these 4 are most common today, and if we learn how to deal with the most common problem, then the others will fall in line.

1Ti 5:8 But if any provided not for his own, and specially his own household, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever is.

Luk 12:9 but he that denieth me in the presence of men shall be denied in the presence of the angels of God.

Mat 26:70 But he denied before them all, saying, I know not what thou sayest.

Jer 5:12 They have denied Jehovah,

Job 6:10 And be it still my consolation, Yea, let me exult in pain that spareth not, That I have not denied the words of the Holy One.

Gen 18:15 Then Sarah denied, saying, I laughed not;

Pro 29:11 A fool uttereth all his anger; But a wise man keepeth it back and stilleth it.

Pro 19:11 The discretion of a man maketh him slow to anger; And it is his glory to pass over a transgression.

Pro 14:29 He that is slow to anger is of great understanding;

Psa 37:8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: Fret not thyself, it tendeth only to evil-doing.

Pro 10:5 He that gathereth in summer is a wise son; But he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.

Pro 13:18 Poverty and shame shall be to him that refuseth correction
