What Legacy will you
Leave behind?

A king dies in battle. His son the prince assumes control of the kingdom and with it the rank of King. With this new rank and power comes also the wealth and honor left to him from his father. This is a Material legacy.

Money, Power, Shelter…….What more could a person hope to leave behind them right? But I would tell you there is more, much much more.

Let me tell you a story… A story of a man named Bob.
Now first of all I must inform you that Bob is a real person. And I will tell you that he is from Michigan, USA. Now here’s a Story of a real Legacy.

Bob wasn’t always a Christian. There was a time when Bob was just as much a Sinner as any one else. In a way, According to the bible, Rom 3:23 for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God; he still is. But what has changed is his heart, His spirit, and his source of power.

One Day God started calling out to Bob. Eventually Bob answered back. But that isn’t the best part! What is the best is his attitude in his answer. “Here I am”
You see When Bob answered the call of God on his life, “here I am” became his life in God.

When call would call, speak or move on Bob, he would answer with a willing heart that not many people in my generation could even understand.

Now Bob answered that call, and because he did, Christ opened a window into the lives of those around Bob. It was through this window that the breeze of the Holy Spirit flew. Not only into but around the family of Bob.

Through this open window of the Lord, Bob saw members of his family, Brothers and Sisters Come to Christ Jesus. But our story isn’t over.. You see Bob kept seeking Christ, and because he did Christ kept that window of change open.

Rev 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me

Bob then noticed his life as a father needed a deeper change. So he started seeking God on how to be a good Father. What is now years later, Bob is the proud parent of several children who know Proclaim Christ Jesus as their Lord and Savior…. But wait! The story isn’t over yet.

Bob kept after God, and blessed as he was, God had more plans for Bob. And Bob was willing to work hard to see those plans come to pass. So what happened?

Bob was very active in the church, how active I will not say. Only because I believe to do so would reveal who he is, and as he does not even know I Am writing about him I would prefer to keep his identity unknown.

Now Bob knew God wanted more and he was willing to work for it. So God kept that window open, and once again the breeze of the Holy Spirit fell. But this time on the Grand Children of Bob. More then 8 Grandchildren know Christ as their Lord and Savior. But was God done? Ohhhh no! There was still much work to be done in the kingdom of the LORD!

I am a witness, to what comes next…

On a recent trip in the car, a 4 year old GREAT grand child of Bob looked with a pure heart, and said with the intensity of any grown man, “it’s ok, because Jesus is in my heart”!!

My friends, the Legacy that will be left behind to those that Bob would call family is this. That GOD saved 4 Generations! And he did so because Bob was willing to work, Listen and see it happen.

Bob isn’t perfect, No matter what his grand children would tell you. But Bob is the man they all trust to go to. When God matters, when help is needed, they turn to this man... A man of GOD. A rock in that family.

Now Bob would be the first to tell you, it isn’t easy. I have heard him say before that the Lord will test us, like Gold. It’s hard, but it’s worth it. His life and his journey were not always easy. But when Bob stands before the seat of Christ, He will do so knowing that behind him stands, not one, not two, but four Generations of believers in Christ Jesus.

Sure money, power and such would be nice. But when you are with Christ, your money wont matter, your power wont matter, your toys, cars, and clothes wont matter. The legacy you leave behind is up to you. What you leave behind can be a gift, which could touch 4 generations or more.

Will you be the king? And leave a material legacy?
Or will you be a Child of the most High GOD. And leave behind a legacy that will free more people then you could ever know from the chains of sin?
How much more awesome to stand before God knowing what you left behind, what you did in your life, lead to others coming to Christ?

In closing.
To the men I say this. Be a man of Honor. Be a Godly man. That by seeking Christ with your whole heart, it could be said of you... This man truly walks with GOD. Let your actions as a father, brother, son and husband reflect those of your GOD. One Thing I know most about bob is this. I trust him like no other. I know his walk with God is real. Wouldn’t you want to have some one say that about you?

The Bible Tells us in 1 john 3:18 1Jo 3:18 My Little children, let us not love in word, neither with the tongue; but in deed and truth.
We need to get into gear, Get into action. Its all or nothing.

Finally,
1Jo 2:5 but whoso keepeth his word, in him verily hath the love of God been perfected.

The bible says, keep your word even if it hurts, my friends commit this day to be a man of GOD. Be it a son, husband, father or brother. You can find examples of these roles throughout the bible. But do so with a whole heart. For men like Bob are dying breeds. And this generation needs men of GOD willing to stand up and be counted on. This generation, and those to come, needs more men like Bob
